South - Girdwood/AWCC
Starting Location
For this tour, you guide and private driver will pick you up from your hotel in downtown Anchorage. With a brief orientation of the vehicle and safety information you’ll be off to see Anchorage in a whole new way. Choose from one of the following hiking locations as your half day adventure.
Girdwood/Turnagain Arm
Next, we pop on over to Girdwood.This is a quaint little Alaskan ski town with a hippy problem. Home to many summer festivals and Alaska’s only ski resort that make this a frequently visited town with a real northern feel. After the long drive down this states most beautiful highway we stop here for a snack and bathrooms before heading onto our next stop.
Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center
Once we make it to Alaska’s wildlife safe haven and rehabilitation center, we tour the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center for an up close encounter with many animals from the massive state they all call home.
Portage and Glaciers
After the AWCC, We make our way towards glaciers from thousands of years ago that still make their home in the Portage Valley. We get a chance to view the brilliant blue that gives no mistake from the most dense form of ice on Alaska’s landscape.
Lunch
Of course, with your driver guide also having a background in the food and beverage industry and a culinary degree there is a freshly prepared and warm meal just before heading back to your hotel and onto your next Alaskan adventure.
