Why choose Real Alaska Outdoors?

Let me introduce myself, the name is Davis and I’ve been here enough winters now to call myself an Alaskan. Originally from Orlando, FL where I grew up and went to school. I graduated Le Cordon Bleu and received my culinary arts degree. That degree is what landed me in Alaska. To finish school I had to do an externship somewhere. I had just got into the “Into The wWild” story and that sparked an interest in Alaska and curated that wilderness free spirit. So naturally, I took off and spent a summer cooking meals for guests, barreling down railroad tracks through the Alaskan wilderness. Glaciers here, mountains there… wait, thats a dall sheep on that mountain!

After the best summer of my life, I decided to make Alaska my home. I spent the next 5 years cooking on the Alaska railroad and another 5 more working in some form of Alaskan cuisine – from a gourmet grilled cheese food truck to handmade Alaskan ice cream – and getting engulfed in Alaskas nature and hospitality industries.

I think anyone can have a good vacation and no matter what someone does in Alaska they’ll have the time of their lives doing it. I bring a unique culinary aspect to the tourism industry here. I intertwine adventure with cuisine by cooking from scratch meals in front of places like glaciers that are thousands of years old, on the banks of a lake with mountain tops mirroring off of them or even just waiting for someone as soon as they hop off an exhilarating excursion. That’s what I do. I mix Alaskan adventure with culinary, in a packaged experience. Whatever brings someone to Alaska, why not be guided and cooked for… in the ALASKAN WILDERNESS?
